Weekly Public Bible Addresses

Each week's public address is very interesting indeed! Christadelphians enjoy presenting a wide variety of Bible based topics, the title of which are advertised in the Examiner newspaper.

Our objective with these addresses is to provide the public with the tools to see the relevance of the Bible today and show how the Bible can be read with understanding and enjoyment.

Please come along and enjoy a friendly environment and a discussion around the Bible. We do not take collections and you will never be pressured into joining the Christadelphians.

Christadelphian Sunday School

Our local Sunday School aims to provide children with sound moral values and a rewarding knowledge of Bible stories that they will take with them throughout their life. We have over 50 boys and girls aged between 3-14 years spread over 10 classes who enjoy the thrill of learning about the Bible at a young age.

Many years ago Jesus Christ often spent time with children, ensuring that they knew the loving character of God. Today, we believe that Sunday School provides a valuable opportunity for children to learn about God and the wonderful things that can be found in the Bible.

Sunday Memorial Meeting

The main focus of worship for Christadelphians is our weekly gathering to remember Jesus Christ in the fashion described in Matthew 26 v26-30 ...

The Apostle Paul, a prominent New Testament writer, states in 1Corinthians 11 v26 that "as often as ye eat this bread and drink this cup, ye do show the Lord's death til he come". The Apostle Paul is saying that in remembering Jesus as often as we can, we are outwardly showing that we are faithfully waiting for his return to the earth (Acts 1v11).

Of course, this service is more than simply an outward show or display. Our objective in this memorial service is to remember the selfless sacrifice of Jesus who gave his life that we may have the opportunity of forgiveness of our sins.

Another very personal objective in this services is to sincerely examine ourselves (1Corinthians11 v28-29) with the motive of identifying our faults and trying to live a sincere life before God every day.

As part of our Memorial Meeting we enjoy of traditional-style hymn singing, reading of the Bible and an encouraging Bible talk (exhortation) which serve as preparation to the Memorial service.

Annual Family Camp

Our annual family camp, conducted by the Launceston Christadelphians, is always an uplifting and successful time spent around the Word of God with over 80 people, young and old attending.

We have Bible Studies revolving around a particular book of the Bible or a specific person in the Bible. In addition to these studies we have informal discussion groups which centre around chapters of the Bible we call the Daily Readings.

Not only are the studies and discussions of enormous benefit, but the overall weekend provides a wonderful opportunity to share the company of our friends from around Tasmania and also from interstate. This camp always proves to be an anticipated event each year.

End of Year Studies

The end of the year always provides an opportunity to get together with local and interstate Christadelphians and pursue an in-depth series of studies on Bible topics. Sometimes this takes the form of a "Bible School" where three separate studies are considered throughout the week with a number of special social activities also. Other years, special Bible studies and activities are arranged by the local Christadelphian Youth Group and young people from around Australia come to Tasmania and take advantage of the opportunity to study exciting sections of the Bible.
